The challenge

Aramco Ventures needed a headquarters that could go beyond a traditional office and reflect its ambition as a global innovation leader.

The key challenge was to translate a forward-looking vision into a physical space that reflects the organisation’s role as a global venture capital leader while addressing the limitations of its previous workspace, which lacked flexibility, advanced technology integration, and a premium experience for both employees and VIP stakeholders. The new headquarters needed to support highly diverse ways of working, from focused individual tasks to dynamic collaboration between global teams and visiting partners. At the same time, it had to embody flexibility, sustainability, and cultural storytelling, while delivering a seamless experience across work zones, executive areas, and social spaces. The challenge was ultimately to design an environment that not only supports work, but elevates how people connect, think, and innovate together.

The big idea

I-AM designed a flexible, technology-enabled headquarters in Dhahran that combines collaboration, community, robotics, and biophilic design to support Aramco Ventures’ global investment platform and future growth.

A Workplace Built Around People

At its core, the workplace fosters community through shared hubs, informal gathering areas, and social spaces that encourage connection across teams, entrepreneurs, and visiting portfolio companies. This is complemented by adaptable work zones, executive areas, and naturally lit, biophilic environments that enhance comfort and well-being.

Enhancing Experience Through Robotics

Robotics are integrated into the daily experience, reinforcing the organisation’s technology-driven identity while enhancing engagement and hospitality.

A Workplace for Tomorrow’s Technologies

We created a future-ready headquarters for Aramco Ventures in Dhahran, designed to reflect its position as a global venture capital investor in emerging technologies. Built around flexibility, collaboration, and a strong sense of community, the space translates organisational ambition into a spatial experience that supports both focused work and collective interaction.

The design was shaped through collaborative workshops with Aramco Ventures, ensuring alignment with diverse working styles and cultural dynamics.The result is a connected, human-centred workplace that strengthens innovation, global connectivity, and community—positioned as both a high-performance office and a destination for future growth.
